The Word is Elated

May 9, 2011 § 1 Comment

After having already blogged about my love for Lemony Snicket AND Maira Kalman AND fabulous pairings, I was thrilled to discover that the two have teamed up for 13 Words, a children’s book which I think will prove to be frivolous, dire, and luxuriant in true Snicket/Kalman style.

If you haven’t already shut down your computer and leapt out the front door to wander among the calming and inspiring bookshelves of your nearest library and/or bookstore (which I’ve also blogged about here), please do so now. Or, if you’ve already placed your order online, here’s a sneak peak of Kalman’s illustrations and a tune to celebrate by with the wickedly talented Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Just wicked.

§ One Response to The Word is Elated

  • Jesse says:

It just goes to show that the power stance, whether done while slinging classically or sudsing up the dishes, does what its name says it is. Who can think of terms that tend to be ironically undermined by the action they’re named after? How ’bout Budget Repair?
